Sage

Sage

Domestic Short Hair - female - 4 months and 2 weeks

Sage was found with an injured leg (her back left leg) and upon examination, the leg was said that it needed to be amputated. It had been fractured already and then had re-fractured. The decision to amputate the leg was the right choice. She gets around better and better each day, and without any major issues. She’s not required to take any other medicines than any other kitten would.

She loves to sleep on your lap and begins to purr the second she gets a pat. She use to be very cautious of her environment and the people in it but now will run up to you the second she’s about to be feed. She lives in the same house as two dogs but is kept in a separate room.

The area around her back left leg was shaved due to the amputation but is quickly growing back.

DCH is grateful to Kellyville Ridge Veterinary Hospital for doing the surgery at a discounted rate to give Sage a chance at a good life.
We are very thankful to the following people who have all helped and donated $582 for Sage's surgery. She cannot say Thank you herself but we say a big Thank you on her behalf.
Nadine, Leesa, Nick, Lauren, Debbie, Laura, Nabila, Gabby, Em, Jan, Steven, Anne-Marie and Georgia

Sage has been in foster care since 22 July 2019, for 2 months

Jedda

Jedda

DLH - female - 3 months

Lovely young Jedda is everything you need in a kitten! Not only does she love people, especially cuddles and playing, she absolutely loves her surrounding furry friends. In terms of people, when you pick Jedda she just melts into your arms, and will be happy to cuddle as long as you do! Her favourite other friend at the moment is her 7-month old Mastiff cross foster sibling Cena. Jedda took big dogs into her stride and Cena returns the love, they play consistently and love to cuddle down at night with each other.
If you are looking for an allrounder type kitten, who is dog, cat and people friendly, then you can't go further than Jedda. Jedda has had her first vaccination and is microchipped, and is around 9 weeks old, so is ready to go! Please call her carer Rod on 0418 239763 to get to meet little Jedda.

Jedda has been in foster care since 21 August 2019, for 1 month

Jasper

Jasper

DMH - male - 2 months and 2 weeks

Jasper and his two sisters, Juno and Jaz were born in a street drain in Schofields, both their parents are street cats (mumcat is to be caught and desexed).

A lovely couple provided food and a warm bed outside for mumcat and kittens but could not catch the young family, so called DCH for assistance. Armed with torch and gloves, these kittens were a tricky threesome to catch, as they fought, scratched and bit.

However after 4 weeks in foster care, the change in these kittens is amazing and they will be looking for a Forever Home very soon, now they are tame enough to be microchipped and vaccinated.

Jasper is becoming a big cuddly boy who purrs easily and enjoys his very fluffy coat being brushed. He is learning to meow and now walks around the house “talking”. If he is startled, he still sometimes hisses but never uses his claws or teeth.

Jasper could possibly get accustomed to a noisier household but so far, he does not like dogs or small children. Older children who are calmer and gentle with him are fine.

Jasper’s new family will need to be patient and help him adjust, as he is still learning but he will reward you with his trust and affection.

Jasper will need regular (probably daily), brushing, and should be an Inside Only cat now, as he will most likely run/roam if allowed out.

Please contact me if you would like to meet Jasper.

Jasper has been in foster care since 24 August 2019, for 4 weeks

Jaz

Jaz

DMH - female - 2 months and 2 weeks

Jaz and her two siblings, Jasper and Juno were born in a street drain in Schofields, both their parents are street cats (mumcat is to be caught and desexed).

Jaz is the most timid of the litter and is still easily scared, especially if hands approach her face too quickly. However she has made so much progress, from hissing and spitting at me when I approached, to now, being gently picked up and patted. She would need a Forever Family who are willing to continue working with her, and patiently gain her trust.

Jaz is still only a young kitten and I have absolutely no doubt she will continue to become more affectionate and trusting, with a caring, patient family.

Jaz will need regular brushing (which she is beginning to enjoy), and she should also be an Inside Only cat now, as she will probably roam if allowed out. So far, she does not like dogs or small children.

Please contact me if you would like to meet Jaz - she will be ready to find her Forever Home in another week or two.

Jaz has been in foster care since 24 August 2019, for 4 weeks

Juno

Juno

DMH - female - 2 months and 2 weeks

Juno and her two siblings, Jasper and Jaz were born in a street drain in Schofields, both their parents are street cats (mumcat is to be caught and desexed).

Juno is very affectionate and will now meow to get your attention. She is also becoming a big fan of cuddles and being picked up, although she may still hiss if startled.

Juno is the more adventurous of the litter, and would probably adapt to most people and families, if introduced gradually so she felt safe. Juno’s new family will need to be patient and give her time to learn she can trust them but they will be rewarded with lots of love and purrs!

Juno will need regular (probably daily), brushing which she enjoys, and she should also be an Inside Only cat now, as she will roam/run if allowed out. So far, she is curious but not confident with dogs!

Please contact me if you would like to meet Juno.

Juno has been in foster care since 24 August 2019, for 4 weeks

Tiddles

Tiddles

Domestic Short Hair - male - 9 years and 1 month

Tiddles is unfortunately in search of a new home due to no fault of his own and has been surrendered into DCH foster care.

A DCH volunteer just happened to meet Tiddles while he was boarding at a vet clinic. Tiddles kept bashing and rubbing up on the door wanting attention. He managed to get the attention of our volunteer and after making his presence known, we have offered to help him find a new home due to the situation he was in.

He is a strikingly beautiful 9 year old ginger cat and he loves pats and loves to rub up on you. He is a big fan of chin rubs. He is happy to sit on your lap as he used to do this with his previous mum but once you have earned his trust.

Tiddles only likes a certain amount of attention and it has to be on his terms. He will tell you when he has had enough and does not want to be touched any more.

He loves attention but seems to like it most when he is on the ground and asking for attention on his terms. He does not like to have his feet touched.

He used to be allowed about an hour outside in the sun with his previous owner but is mostly an indoors cat.

He is not a fussy cat and will eat most things.

Health Information:
Desexed.
Vaccinated 21/8/2019. Next due 21/8/2020
He has been wormed and flea treated,
Has some plaque on his teeth and a future dental clean may be needed.

Located in North Ryde.

Tiddles has been in foster care since 14 September 2019, for 1 weeks
