Cats in our Care

These cats and kittens have been rescued from various pounds and shelters by volunteer foster carers who provide the cat with a safe haven until they can be permanently rehomed. Cats are located throughout Sydney, Australia.

Please note that descriptions of breed, age and size are given in good faith and are based on assessment of the cat's features, together with veterinary opinion. We cannot guarantee the age and breed of any cats listed.

All cats listed come desexed, vaccinated, wormed and microchipped.

Zeppelin

Zeppelin

Domestic Medium Hair - male - 4 months and 2 weeks

Zeppelin was surrendered to Hawkesbury Animal Shelter with his sister, Ziggy, before both came into DCH foster care. These kittens have been bottle-fed and are very sociable with people.

Zeppelin is a confident, affectionate and very playful kitten who has lots of energy and curiosity! This little guy is a great little companion who comes running when you click your fingers and loves to be picked up so much, he jumps up on legs and begs! Zeppelin has one of the most lovable personalities that I have come across in fostering.

As he is so people-focused, Zepp would benefit from a home where he gets loads of attention, and he would also be fine with another cat for company. Balls with bells and toy mice are his favourites at the moment, and he proudly carries them through the house!

The $225 adoption fee includes microchipping, worming, first vaccination and desexing. Zeppelin is also litter-trained and socialised with other kittens and cat-friendly dogs.

Please use the "Send enquiry email" link below, if you have any questions or if you are interested in adopting.

As we currently receive lots of enquiries for each kitten, please include relevant details about yourself and your home/other pets to be considered. If you are renting, please ensure that you have approval for a cat BEFORE you lodge interest.

You must be over 18yrs old and an Australian citizen or Permanent Resident to adopt an animal from DCH.

Zeppelin has been in foster care since 03 November 2020, for 3 months

Marilyn Monroe

Marilyn Monroe

shd - female - 1 year and 5 months

Marilyn Monroe is a beautiful, smoochy female that came into the pound with 6 healthy babies. She has hauntingly pretty face with beautiful eyes and unusual tortoisehell face plus tabby striped body. She was a little underweight when she came into care so she we supplemented her feeds while she fed her babies. She is definitely no longer underweight! She has a quiet meow and greets you when you come into her room.
She is litter trained, and an indoor cat now who, to her credit already taught her babies how to use the litter pan by 4 weeks of age. That said, she would prefer to be the only cat in her furever family.

Marilyn Monroe has been in foster care since 14 November 2020, for 3 months

Pepper came into foster care from a western Sydney Animal Shelter around 2.5 weeks of age along with 2 siblings. He has been hand raised and bottle fed and has had LOTS of human attention and handling.

Pepper is a little shy compared to his brother Peanut but once he is comfortable in her environment he comes out of his shell and loves to play with the other kittens and with any toy that moves. He enjoys a quick pat but is currently a little on the independent side so is not currently a lap cat.

Leah

Leah

DSH - female - 4 months and 2 weeks

Leah and Topaz are looking to be adopted together as a bonded pair

Leah and Topaz were found as little kittens around 4 weeks old and were living under a swimming pool near some bush land. The property owners called for assistance with them when they heard them crying out as they were hungry for food and their Mumma cat had not returned after multiple hours on a very hot day. They have been in foster care and have been raised as indoors only cats. They are bonded and have been kept together since being in foster care and we are looking for a home where they can be adopted together as a bonded pair.

Leah is outgoing and is a curious kitty. She likes to climb and will often climb up onto her carers shoulder. She is very quick to purr and to put on her charm and loves pats on her head and on her sides.
Topaz is a little more reserved and can be spooked by loud noises however she has a lovely purr and enjoys a good pat. She would prefer a home where there are no children under 10.

They eat a diet of Royal Canin second age kitten dry food and Kitten Instinctive gray wet food.

They have been desexed, microchipped, and given worm and flea treatments. They have received their 1st and 2nd F3 vaccination but will require 1 more additional vaccination to be fully vaccinated which is not included in the adoption fee.

Mumma

Mumma

Domestic Medium Hair - female - 2 years and 1 month

Young Mumma was rescued with her 3 kittens, whom she was feeding in a back garden. She was a fab mum, but her kitties have now all found their new homes, so she is hoping her own furever family is just around the corner.

Mumma is currently enjoying having no responsibilities except having fun within her active foster family, comprising mum and dad, two kids, cats (both resident and foster), canines and bunnies. She quickly becomes comfortable with her human companions and shows a lot of love, so, we believe she’d be a wonderful addition to just about any home – provided it is indoor only to keep her safe.

Mumma is a really beautiful cat both outside (with her lovely oriental look) and in. She is sweet and very affectionate, rolling over to invite her humans to pet her (for hours if you’re keen!), and will happily sit with you to make it easy for you to keep it up. She is curious and likes to explore new places and be where the excitement (people…) is. Mumma has found out that beds are rather comfy, too.

Mumma is vet–checked, microchipped and vaccinated, and desexed, so is ready and raring to go to her new family.

If you’d like to meet Mumma at her temporary home in Ermington, please email us.

Mumma has been in foster care since 27 November 2020, for 3 months

Dash

Dash

Domestic short hair - male - 4 months and 2 weeks

Dash came into our care with his mum, Suri, at the same time as another litter of three kittties and their mum. Unfortunately, just as he was already to be rehomed, Dash developed a mild case of ringworm (a common fungal infection), and so has been in isolation while his playmates have all found their furever families. Dash is ready for his furever home in about a week’s time, and is raring to go after being kept alone, but at this point he may only join a household with no other pets or young children. We anticipate he will be able to join all kinds of (indoor only) families towards the end of February.

If you’d like to learn more about Dash, or meet him at his temporary home in Ermington, please email us. Expressions of interest are also welcome.

SO WHAT CAN WE SAY ABOUT DASH????? ……..Oh, there he goes! ......
Dash is always on the go and a busy body. He likes to be on the move and exploring his entire domain – just full of energy. He is a handsome and confident boy, and he also enjoys a nice petting from his human companions.

He thrived in his active foster family, comprising mum and dad, two kids, cats – both resident and foster, canines and bunnies. On that basis, we believe he will fit happily in with a variety of family environments. Just note he has been in care as indoor only, so for his safety, he must join an indoor only home.

Dash is microchipped, vaccinated, and desexed.

Dash has been in foster care since 29 November 2020, for 3 months

Archie

Archie

DSH - male - 5 months and 2 weeks

Archie is a very sweet, affectionate cat, loves to be by your side and or on you always. He will wait for bed time and cuddle close to you.

Loves getting cuddles and pats, he will stay in your arms and just allow you to cuddle him.

Archie is a very handsome little kitty.

Archie is okay with our rabbit and our dog, however initially he wasn't and took a couple of weeks to get used to them, he would hiss a lot , now he is playful with them and doesn't mind them at all, when we bring in another cat or dog , he doesn't like it and needs time to adjust but eventually warms up to them.

Indoor cat only please.

Feel free to drop by and meet Archie.
