Topaz

Topaz

DSH - female

Leah and Topaz are looking to be adopted together as a bonded pair

Leah and Topaz were found as little kittens around 4 weeks old and were living under a swimming pool near some bush land. The property owners called for assistance with them when they heard them crying out as they were hungry for food and their Mumma cat had not returned after multiple hours on a very hot day. They have been in foster care and have been raised as indoors only cats. They are bonded and have been kept together since being in foster care and we are looking for a home where they can be adopted together as a bonded pair.

Leah is outgoing and is a curious kitty. She likes to climb and will often climb up onto her carers shoulder. She is very quick to purr and to put on her charm and loves pats on her head and on her sides.
Topaz is a little more reserved and can be spooked by loud noises however she has a lovely purr and enjoys a good pat. She would prefer a home where there are no children under 10.

They eat a diet of Royal Canin second age kitten dry food and Kitten Instinctive gray wet food.

They have been desexed, microchipped, and given worm and flea treatments. They have received their 1st and 2nd F3 vaccination but will require 1 more additional vaccination to be fully vaccinated which is not included in the adoption fee.

dawson

dawson

shd - male

Dawson is a laid back, smoochie, playful, muscular boy. He's very verbal (chirps to you to ask for pats), loves to be brushed and enjoys sitting on the lounge with you in front of the tv. He's also expert at head butting you to encourage you to stroke him. He will come to you when you call him.

Dawson is very placid, and can be shy with new people to start off with, but he warmed to his new family quite quickly. This, despite coming into our care as a stray having been patted and fed by a soft hearted animal lover, so we suspect he has lived within a loving family in his earlier life.

He gets along fine with our resident cats, grooms and sleeps with the new scared stray kitties that come into care, is not fazed with our small dog. He has bonded with one of the kittens in care called Cheddar. I'm hoping someone will be interested in adopting them both together.

We believe Dawson would fit in a home where there's another feline friend available... It may take a little time for him to settle in, but will be well worth your patience.

Dawson is vet checked, desexed and his vaccinations are up to date. He has also tested negative for Feline Aids. So, he's now raring to find his furever family to love and spoil him in return for his smooches.

If you would like to learn more about Dawson, or visit him at his Hoxton Park foster home, please contact his carer, Karen.

  • When he came into our care, poor Dawson visited the vet several times to resolve a case of conjunctivities, and to treat swollen foot pads which have now cleared up. Any contribution towards his vet expenses would be gratefully received.
  • dawson was adopted on 05 May 2021 after 8 months in foster care

    Regi

    Regi

    DSH - female

Little Regi came into care at about 3 weeks of age, when she and her sister were rescued from a busy warehouse area, and thankfully they were as a week or so later the warehouse was burnt down.

Regi is a fairly laid back kitten, however she is a cheeky litter bugger when she is in the mood. Regi is happy keeping her foster mum company while they watch TV at night, and is snuggled up beside her in bed as the nights get colder. And Regi is happy to help her foster mum dry off after a shower, by licking the water off her legs and is quite put out when the towel takes over. Regi is also starting to do the ninja jumps and grabbing ankles as her human walks into new rooms.

Since being in care Regi has been raised with other kittens, cats, dogs and bunnies and she is comfortable with them all and is game to have a play with any size cat.

Regi ready for her forever home and is available to meet now, she is litter trained, and has been desexed, had her first kitten vaccinations and will be up to date with her parasite protection.

As we currently receive a number of enquiries for our kittens, please include relevant details about yourself and your home/other pets, to be considered.

If you are renting, please ensure that you have approval for a cat BEFORE you lodge interest.

You must be over 18yrs old and an Australian citizen or Permanent Resident to adopt an animal from DCH.

Regi was adopted on 04 May 2021 after 1 weeks in foster care

    Megan

    Megan

    Dmh - female

Megan is a wonderfully affectionate cat, who will seek you out for 'feeding time' and coil herself around you, purring and mewing until her meal is presented to her.
Even when food is not involved, she loves to 'elegantly' flop in front of you (no matter where you are), to expose her belly and have it rubbed.
Not only has she been a fantastic mum to her two little boys, she lives happily with a 12 month old Labradane and would adapt to a new dog quite quickly.

Megan is happy to be picked up, have her nails trimmed and is well behaved around small children, making her wonderful addition to any family looking to adopt.

Megan is desexed, microchipped and up to date with vaccinations, so she is now ready for her own furever family.

Megan was adopted on 02 May 2021 after 2 months in foster care

    Avachat

    Avachat

    DMH - male

When Avachat first came into care he didn't stop talking for the first 2 weeks, if he was awake he was voicing his opinion even if that changed minute to minute, and he didn't know what he was complaining about. After those 2 weeks, and his belly was finally full, Avachat was less vocal but still liked to voice his opinion.

Avachat is a character, as soon as his foster mums feet hit the floor of a morning he is running ahead of her to the kitchen for breakfast, if she is slower than he would like he back tracks to make sure she is following him.

Avachat's little purr motor is pretty much always on, if you talk to him, look at him, pick him up ort pat him he will be purring. As Avachat enjoys human company his foster mum has set up a little bed beside her computer so he can keep her company while she works from home.

While Avachat is a very confident kitten, he can still become shy when meeting new people but this shouldn't last long.

Since being in care from about 4-5 weeks of age, Avachat has been raised with other kittens, cats, dogs and bunnies and he is happy to bounce along with them all.

Avachat is litter trained and is now ready for his new home, he has been desexed, had 2 of his 3 kitten vaccinations and is up to date with his parasite treatment.

Avachat was adopted on 01 May 2021 after 5 days in foster care

    Elvis

    Elvis

    Domestic Short Hair - male

Elvis and his sister, Echo, came into DCH foster care at about 8 weeks old after they were found living under a house in Macquarie Fields.

Elvis is a very playful and curious young man who is beginning to realise that people aren’t so bad (and they have treats!)

This beautiful Tabby boy with the chiselled chin, usually does do a runner when he knows you want to pick him up, making little purrs and trills as he goes, like it's a game to him! However once you have him in your arms, he doesn't fight at all to get away and succumbs to all the love and cuddles!

Elvis will usually fall asleep right next to me or behind my shoulder, on the lounge. Elvis has progressed really well with his social skills but he will really benefit from a quieter home with only 1-2 people to focus on and trust. Elvis gets on well with other cats and kittens, as well as cat-friendly dogs.

Elvis had a rough start to life but he absolutely deserves a loving Forever Family to call his own.

The $225 adoption fee includes microchipping, worming, first vaccination and desexing. Elvis is also litter-trained and socialised with other foster kittens and must be kept as an INSIDE ONLY cat.

Please use the "Send enquiry email" link below, if you have any questions or if you are interested in adopting.

Elvis is desexed and is ready to go to his new home now.

If you are renting, please ensure that you have approval for a cat BEFORE you lodge interest.

You must be over 18yrs old and an Australian citizen or Permanent Resident to adopt this kitten.

Elvis was adopted on 01 May 2021 after 4 months in foster care

    Lani

    Lani

    Domestic Short Hair - female

Lani was brought into care with her 3 brothers (Don, Toby and Joe) from a private surrender after his mother abandoned him, where he was bottle fed and nurtured for a few weeks.

Lani is a playful kitten who enjoys a good pat and purrs for more, she enjoys a good game of chasing the string and jumping on your feet when you walk past. As she can get under your feet, our recommendation would be to a younger family home as she can be a bit of a trip hazard.

Looking for an indoors only home.

Desexed, 1st and 2nd F3 vaccinated, wormed, flea treated.

    Located in Acacia Gardens, NSW

Lani was adopted on 01 May 2021 after 1 month in foster care

    Bobby

    Bobby

    Manx - male

*Update April 2021: Unfortunately he's been in our cattery facility for 3 months now after his foster carer moved interstate. He's coped surprisingly well but he's really overdue to go to a proper home getting the ongoing affectionate and play time that he deserves. *

Bobby likes to walk around the house as though he is boss, he is not shy at all and will make himself at home anywhere. Bobby is fine with large dogs. He hasn't been with another cat but I think he'd be fine with another calm feline friend.

A fairly quiet boy, he is really a delight to have around, he loves a cuddle, loves smooching and when he's not sitting at the window watching the world go by he does enjoy playing. His previous foster carers found he enjoyed jumping out in front of them and running off - only to then come and grab your ankles for a quick nibble (very cheeky). But he's yet to do any ankle nibbling in the 4 months he's been in our cattery.

Bobby loves to wander around the back yard, which we supervise, and is easy to pick up to return him indoors. Ideally he'd like a home with some space to run around, with a safe garden or yard where he can play and explore both inside and out.

Bobby is probably best placed into a home with no very young children as he is quite a large and strong cat, and can play a bit rough for littlies. However he's very easy for older children to handle and is quite smoochy and cuddly with them.

Information about the Manx cat breed and their personalities can be found here. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manx_cat

If you'd like to learn more about this almost dog-like cat, or visit him in his temporary home in Riverstone, please contact his carer.

Bobby was adopted on 30 April 2021 after 2.5 years in foster care

    Sahara

    Sahara

    shd - female

Sahara came into care with her 4 other siblings. Sahara is a shy girl however will sit in your lap and allow you to pat her.
She's an unusual looking kitty with orange and brown tabby stipes and spots.

Sahara needs a family who is going to love her and show her the affection she deserves.

Sahara has been vaccinated, vet checked and microchipped. Sahara will be desexed before heading to her forever home.

    Leo

    Leo

    DSH - male

Leo ..... please do not over look this divine little man he truly is just that DIVINE.

Leo has been a delight to have in care , he loves his people and loves nothing better after a rough play session to snuggle and watch TV with you.

Leo has been in care with 3 adult dogs , he gets on with them all but at times he can annoy them with his full on play , he is also very respectful of the resident cats.

Leo does not seem to mind being on his own so if you are a full time worker I don't think this would be a problem for him.

He loves his food and is litter trained.

Leo has had his first vaccination and has been micro chipped. He is also flea and worm treated. His adoption fee will cover his desexing at one of DCH's approved vets when he is old enough.

He is in care in the Granville area.

Leo was adopted on 26 April 2021 after 2 weeks in foster care
