Ash

Ash

DSH - female

Meet the beautiful Ash!

This girl, most likely a few months younger than her age here found herself impounded heavily pregant and she gave birth to 4 lovely kittens the same day she was rescued.

Ash is a lovely natured, confident, cuddly young lady. She is super friendly with everyone she meets and is proving to be a good mother. It's a little hard to say if she's very playful or more likely to sleep the day away as she's concentrating on raising her kittens, but she is fit and active so I suspect more of her playful, explorer side will blossom in her new home.

Ash would suit most homes, perhaps not small or high up units as she'll be too active for the small space, but other than that she should fit easily and quickly into most households.

Ash was adopted on 27 November 2020 after 3 weeks in foster care

Frappe

Frappe

Domestic Medium Hair - male

Frappe is a sweet fluffy kitten. He is very playful and affectionate. He will come rub his head on us for pats.

He is an absolute purring machine and very friendly. He enjoys getting pats and loves to play on his own or with his siblings. All of the kittens have similar personalities and will make a great addition to any family.

Well socialised in a family environment with older children and two resident cats.

Frappe needs to go to an indoor only home. He is fully litter trained and comes microchipped, desexed, up to date on vaccinations, flea and worm treated. Frappe is available for adoption now. Please contact me to organise a meet and greet.

Poppy

Poppy

Domestic Short Hair - female

Two cute, playful, beautiful bundles of joy are looking for furever homes, together or separately.
Poppy and her brother Max were rescued from the Pound, and found themselves in a foster home full of activity and lots of attention. They have thrived in the care of a family including four young children, three resident cats, two dogs and two bunnies – plus mum and dad to manage them all! So both kittens should fit in happily with an active family, possibly with some furry friends to play with. They will bring much affection and joy. To keep them safe, their home has to be indoor only.

A charming little girl, Poppy is very affectionate and loves to be petted and handled. She is also happy to let all the kids pick her up for a cuddle. While she can still be a bit wary of new people she soon comes out of her shell. She’s interested in her surroundings, enjoying exploring things at her own pace; and is happy alongside the other animals in the menagerie.

Poppy is vaccinated, microchipped and vet checked. Desexing is included in her adoption fee.

If you are interested in learning more about Poppy, or visiting her in her foster home in Ermington, please contact his carer, Kristine.

Xena (now Amber)

Xena (now Amber)

DSH - female

Indoor Only Cat

Xena had a pretty tough start as a kitten but thanks to a very caring vet, she is now thriving and ready to find her Forever Family.

Xena was found in a gutter after presumably, she had been hit by a car. She was taken to Rossmore Veterinary Hospital and, instead of being put down, this affectionate little kitten was given surgery on a broken pelvis and saved! Although she has healed well, Xena does have a “frozen” left hind leg which will be a permanent condition.

Being the little warrior that she is, Xena has now adjusted to her situation, and instead of dragging her leg, she swings it in front and uses it for balance. At this stage there is no need for her leg to be amputated but this may be a future consideration.

Xena is very people-focused and extremely affectionate and will meow or use her paw to tap you if you stop paying her attention! She loves to follow us around the house and has no shyness at all when meeting new people.

Although she initially hissed at the foster kittens on first meeting, it only took days before she was snuggled up with them and happily playing.

The $200 adoption fee includes microchipping, worming, first vaccination and desexing. Xena is also litter-trained and socialised with cat-friendly dogs.

Please use the "Send enquiry email" link below, if you have any questions or if you are interested in adopting.

You must be over 18yrs old and an Australian citizen or Permanent Resident to adopt an animal from DCH.

Xena (now Amber) was adopted on 13 November 2020 after 2 months in foster care

Toulouse

Toulouse

Domestic Short Hair - male

Hi, I am Toulouse and I was taken into care with my brother, Thomas. He has now found his furever home; while I have some smaller fluffballs to play with I rather miss him, so I'm hoping a loving family all my own will take me home with them soon.

Toulouse is a slender, sleek and muscular boy, with sharp intelligent eyes. He has a fantastic purr. He quickly learnt that a pat and cuddle are wonderful. Toulouse loves to find a quiet warm spot for a cat nap with the other kitties in his foster household.

Toulouse loved playing with his brother - chasing, wrestling, rumbling, balls with bells, mice, toes and fluffy toys. He also enjoys exploring - climbing, sneaking, hiding, climbing legs, and wriggling behind furniture, windows and beds. And is quite the technology fan - walking on screens and keyboards and being mesmerised by the screen.

Toulouse would thrive within a peaceful family with other cats, which has the patience and love to help him settle in. We think he will turn into a homely snugglebug, and good play, mate for other family felines. He is an indoor only kitty.

Toulouse has been microchipped and vaccinated, and is desexed so he is raring to go on his new adventure with you.

Thomas

Thomas

Domestic Short Hair - male

Hi, I am Thomas and I’m in foster care with my brother, Toulouse who has his own profile on the website. We are both looking for a furever home – together would be nice, but not essential – we really just want a loving family, perhaps with some furry friends for us!

Thomas is a lovely fluffy boy, broad faced with a stocky build; his real stand out feature is his beautiful big eyes. He has a soft playful side and a loud contented purrrrrrrr. Thomas is happy to have a cuddle and sleep near people, but prefers to find a quiet corner or cuddle up with Toulouse.

Both brothers love their people, and
• Playing together - chasing, wrestling, rumbling, balls with bells, mice, toes and fluffy toys.
• Exploring - climbing, sneaking, hiding, climbing legs, and wriggling behind furniture, windows and beds.
• Technology - walking on screens and keyboards, sitting in front of screens, and Thomas even likes playing chase the mouse on the iPad!!!!! A perfect work from home companion….?

If the brothers go to separate homes, Thomas would love a family with children and other animals and lots of cuddles and play. He will provide his new family with lots of affection and fun times. He is an indoor only kitty.

Thomas has been microchipped and vaccinated. His adoption fee includes de-sexing.

Weasley

Weasley

Domestic Short Hair - male

Weasley is a beautiful boy inside and out, he has a very playful and curious personality.

He loves love including lots of cuddles and belly rubs. He has a lot of love to give and would make a great addition to any family.

He was hit by a car and received a small break to his back leg. It has healed on its own. The vets have completed Xrays and have decided that no surgical actions were needed at the moment. Weasley may develop a small limp or early onset of arthritis later in life due to the injury.
