Daphne

Daphne

Mini Fox Terrier - female

Hi I'm Daphne. You could consider me a pensioner. My approximate age is 15 as assessed by the Pound who described me as a sweet girl. My foster carer totally agrees. I have difficulty seeing and hearing, however I'm getting by, discovering all the nooks and crannies of my foster house and back yard. I get on with the resident and visiting dogs and just potter around all day. I do have a bit of stiffness in the hips however, I walk well on the lead and sleep soundly throughout the night, and am incontinent during the night only. I take myself outside to do my business during the day. My foster mum places puppy pads on my bed so it's hit and miss whether they contain my small amount of urine. This condition can be treated with medication if necessary. I eat real food and I have many of my own teeth. I would prefer a level house and garden as I cannot see the steps properly, however I did get used to two and I am now okay. My heart is strong and I do not have a murmur. I had been previously desexed and during my recent dental visit (9 teeth were removed), my vet found a small hernia which he repaired so I'm ready to go to my new home. My foster father, also a pensioner and mother are falling in love with me however, I would love to share my personality with someone who will understand my issues so that my foster parents can rescue another furbaby in need.

Olive

Olive

Chihuahua - female

Olive is a beautiful little chihuahua that we estimate to be between 10-12 years old. Olive didn’t have the best start to her foster life, as she was riddled with lumps and bumps all over but she’s feeling a lot better (and a lot lighter) now they've been removed.

Despite Olive's rough start with us, she still proved she has a lot of love to give and would make a great companion for the right person.

Whilst Olive has had many medical issues resolved she still has an ongoing treatment plan involving twice daily eye cleans and drops and fortnightly medicated baths as well as a joint supplement to help with her back legs.

While Olive has been in foster care, some behavioural difficulties have been identified. She has a very high level of resource guarding, is reactive on leash, is very wary around new people and is especially sensitive to touch around her rear end.

Due to Olive's behavioural requirements, she is not suited to a home with children under 10 years old and is best suited in a home as the primary pet with no other cats or dogs.

Ideally we would like to see Olive in a home with previous Chihuahua experience that would be able to devote all the attention to her and is slow paced so she can enjoy her retirement.

Olive is toilet trained, very food motivated and enjoys short strolls where she can roll in the grass and get some sun.

If this feisty gal sounds like the perfect companion for you we would love to hear from you!

Aurora

Aurora

Jack Russell Terrier Cross - female

**On Hold. Aurora has found her new family and is on hold until she is ready to be adopted out.**

Aurora was born in an animal shelter facility and came into foster care with DCH on the day she was born. She was born a little earlier than expected and was quite small to begin with but has grown to be a wonderful and playful puppy.

Aurora's mother is microchipped as a Jack Russell X Pomeranian and her dad is unknown so we have listed Aurora as a Jack Russell Terrier cross.

She has been raised in care as an indoors / outdoors dog but always sleeps inside. She is used to using a synthetic grass pee mat for a toilet when indoors.

Aurora has received her 1st and 2nd vaccinations and is booked in to receive her 3rd and final one for this year on the 25th March.

She has been wormed, microchipped and flea treated.

Aurora is booked in to be desexed on the 25th March as long as the vets are comfortable with her size at the time. She will also receive a repair for a hernia at the time of desexing.

**NOTE: She will be available for adoption only after she has healed from surgery and a tentative date of when she can be rehomed is the 8th April.

Aurora has a very playful and adventurous nature. She is a bit of a wriggle pot when you pick her up and she just wants to get back down and run around. She has lots of energy and loves to play. She demands attention and does not like being alone.

She will chew on anything left out as any puppy does and she is a bit of a climber and can climb up onto fences and chairs etc.

We would recommend that she attends puppy school after being adopted.

Tiny

Tiny

Mini Foxie - female

Tiny as the name suggests is small in size but big in personality. She is full of energy and enjoys runs or long walks. She loves cuddling and sleeping on our laps. She always wants to stay with her human companions both indoors and outdoors. She may not suit a household where she would be home alone for long periods of time.

She does not demand constant attention. She is happy to sleep in her bed or play around in the yard by herself while we work but, like all dogs, she likes companionship. With the weather getting chilly she thoroughly enjoys lounging under the sun when possible.

Tiny is house trained and follows basic commands like sit, no and stay and is keen to learn new things. Tiny would benefit from further training.

If someone comes close to the house she will bark but only for a few seconds to alert us. Otherwise she does not bark much throughout the day or night.

Tiny would make some family or individual a great addition to their household. She is best suited in a single dog household.
