Cosmo

Cosmo

Kelpie cross Staffy - male

Sooky Sooky La La that is the best way to desribe Cosmo. Black and White and beaming with life, male, and 6 months old Cosmo came into care with his little sister Izzy. Cosmo is the meeker one of the two and not as lively as his sister.Cosmo is learning many things at the moment and what a fast learner he is, Cosmo already knows how to sit, stay and come when called. Cosmo and his sister are quite close it would be lovely if they were both adopted together, but if this isn't possible then I am sure with lots of love.💗 and time they will manage to be separated. Cosmo is an extremely cuddley boy , he likes to cuddle you like a little black bear and can't get enough cuddles. So he will need someone who can give him plenty of cuddles, time and exercise. At the moment Cosmo is living with many other dogs, cats, horses and chickens and he is very accepting and friendly towards them all. After having Cosmo now for alittle while I can highly recommend Cosmo with little children he is so gentle with them it is just gorgeous .Cosmo will come desexed, mirochipped, vac, wormed, flead and heartwormed checked and ready to be loved in his new forever home.💙💙

Cosmo was adopted on 24 May 2015 after 2 weeks in foster care

Lexie

Lexie

GSD x Kelpie? - female

Lexie has gone out on trial.

This is Lexie who was surrendered to a pound after she had puppies and she is now in foster care. Lexie is a German Shepherd cross but she looks mostly German Shepherd but only half the size. Her teeth are very good and she has a glossy coat indicative of a young healthy dog. Her health and teeth are not the best part of Lexie as she has a sweet gentle nature and even “mothers” other dogs by licking their faces ears and bottoms.

Since Lexie has been in foster care she has blossomed into an attentive and affectionate dog who loves the company of people and dotes on her foster carer and will ultimately dote on her new owner. She makes friends quickly with people and other similarly playful dogs. Initially Lexie used to pull hard on her lead but now after guidance she trots quite happily in front of her handler sniffing at the occasional spot. Lexie’s initial overly active interest in chasing cats has now been modified as she is quite happy to be in the room with a cat and the cat itself is now confident that it will be safe in her company.

Lexie is not a jumper and she can be easily contained in a fully fenced yard with fences of a medium height. She is not a barker and when left alone she whines briefly then settles down to await the return of her owner. She is not an overly active dog and will suit a working family who can take her for short walks of about 40 minutes duration at least 3 or 4 times a week.

In the short time of her foster care Lexie will obediently return when called and will sit when asked to sit.

She is happiest being with her “humans” and all she asks for is care and attention and being taken for her walk. In the car she is quiet and usually sleeps but occasionally she loves to stick her nose out the window.
Lexie has a gentle nature and gets on very well with other dogs and is becoming tolerant to cats. She rarely barks even when left alone in the house and yard - for this reason she should suit a working family. Lexie is proving placid and friendly with children.

Typical of her breed, Lexie is a very good watchdog and will bark if a stranger attempts to enter the house or yard.

Lexie was adopted on 06 May 2015 after 1 month in foster care

Barney

Barney

Corgi X Terrier - male

Barney is a sweet little dog. He loves going for walks but also loves cuddles and sitting in your lap. He loves his dinner and will sit and shake hands for a doggie treat. Barney loves going for rides in the car and is very well behaved when travelling. He may be small but he has a big heart. He would make a great pet for a family or retired couple.

Barney was adopted on 27 April 2015 after 1 weeks in foster care

Suki

Suki

Labrador x Kelpie - female

This is Suki who was found wandering the streets of Penrith. She was smelly, very hungry, nameless, no collar, no microchip and ended up a timid and scared waif in the pound. Since in foster care she has come out of her shell and is now a happy-go-lucky puppy easily making friends with people, children and other dogs. Suki is a chocolate Labrador/kelpie cross and has the unmistakeable body shape of a Labrador but is smaller and much finer boned. She has the Labrador ears and tail but with a kelpie face and eyes. Her teeth are very good and she has a glossy coat indicative of a young healthy dog. Suki as a puppy is quite active and until she is about two years old will need a daily walk of at least a half hour.

Although Suki is steadily getting to know her name she will respond and return with a whistle. She is in need of puppy training but she is learning to sit on command and is responding well to house training. She is cat tolerant as she shows no inclination to attack or chase a cat

Suki is very affectionate and loves to be close to her carer as she will be with her new owner. When left alone she will whine for a little while but then settle down to await the return of the owner/carer. Suki is not a barker and is certainly not a fence jumper. She has a sweet, gentle nature with people and very playful in the company of other dogs. Suki would suit a working family.

Suki walks very well on the lead and does not pull, she is content to walk alongside or just behind her handler. In the car Suki usually sleeps or tries to snuggle up against the driver or passenger.

Suki was adopted on 10 April 2015 after 2 weeks in foster care

Coco

Coco

Poodle x Maltese - female

Coco is a lovely little Poodle cross Maltese, 5 years of age who likes to be with people but can be a little shy. She needs to be kept indoors as she becomes very anxious if she is left outside. She is very good with other little dogs but does want to chase cats. She would make a very good companion for someone with another small dog. She enjoys her walks on an extender lead. She is house trained and knows to toilet outside. Her previous owners regularly had her groomed. She is the sweetest little girl and really deserves a loving home.

She is located at Shell Cove in the Wollongong area.

Coco was adopted on 17 March 2015 after 2 weeks in foster care

Jing

Jing

Labradoodle X - male

Jing is an energetic and faithful boy. He is large and majestic with a playful, loving and bold temperament. Very well behaved he'd make a great jogging companion too.
We are rehoming Jing as he was taken on with the hope of training him up and getting him certified as a medical service dog.
unfortunately he doesn't quite meet the requirements as on a few occasions whilst walking him on a lead he would suddenly bark excessively at another dog, or person, for no reason we could ascertain. At other times he can walk past new people and other dogs with total disinterest. But sadly this will mean he won't pass the service dog requirement.

He is fully house trained and will toilet on command. He has been a wonderful inside companion dog, and is usually very social when out and about, accompanying us to markets, shops and even a hospital visit. (with about 10 teenage patients all patting and ooh aahhing over him). He responds very well to training and food rewards work a treat with him.
Jing would suit a capable dog handler and would be a devoted companion.

Foster Carer Required - If you can't offer Jing a permanent home but could help with providing him with foster care until a home is found then please contact Megan on 9627 2767 or dchanimaladoptions@iprimus.com.au
