Charlie

Charlie

Medium x Breed - male

Charlie is a lovely natured boy, approx 8 months old now, he is well socialised with dogs, adults and children. He craves pats and cuddles, following at your heals around the house and garden. He would benefit from on going training, but knows how to sit. He loves his food and doesn't mind a game of ball providing you understand when he brings it back a couple of times you don't throw it away again..! (You wouldn't be that silly right?) I have trained him to loose lead walk and he is well behaved in the car, he is very eager to please, though being young doesn't yet understand my other fosters are entitled to get some love from me as well as him. Not sure of his breed mix but probably now full grown height which is under my knee, he is smooth coated. He's got a funny little face, with one ear up and one flopped over and I'd recommend that the insides of his ears and the tip of his nose be protected from the sun in hotter seasons with sun screen to prevent any damage. He is active with the other fosters when they feel like interacting otherwise he is happy to laze the day away with a friend. He needs to be inside/outside and hopefully find an active family that will include him in all their daily life. He is able to be left on his own during the daytime but not for extended periods as he is such a friendly chap he really likes to have more regular company. If Charlie sounds like he'd be right for your family call Karen on 0403 952 900 to arrange to view. He is currently being cared for in Glenhaven.

Benny is a cute little puppy who is active, clever, independent, enjoys playing on his rug inside but is also happy sleeping in his kennel outside with his foster sister Ruby. Benny has a lovely brindle coat, is very curious and loves to hide under our coffee table and chew his bone. Benny is starting to learn his name and and basic commands while his house training is coming along very nicely. Lego

Lego

Kelpie - male

Lego is such a gorgeous dog, a real gentleman

an old soul, very level headed for a puppy. He loves other dogs and plays all day long with his doggy friends and his toys. He is very appropriate when meeting new dogs and would suit most other dogs as a mate. Lego is very good with chickens and cats and is learning to behave with sheep and goats. Lego is very timid until he knows he can trust you. In our case it has only taken 48 hours. He is the kind of dog who will bond very tightly to his owner. Lego will need plenty of stimulation and involvement with his family, he would love another dog to play with or someone at home a fair bit. Lego will need to be housed very securely until he has bonded with his new family. In just the past 48 hours since his arrival he has really grown in confidence with us and is already proving to be a good watch dog. Lego is allowed indoors and has been sleeping indoors all night with no accidents. Lego would love a family who can show him how great the world can beand put some effort in to exposing him to many different situations. He will need someone who understands how intelligent Kelpies are and that they need stimulation in order to be a well behaved canine citizen. Lego is wonderful with children and is currently living with a 6 year old who lies all over him and is handling him in all sorts of ways. He will leave care very well adjusted with kids

hence his name as he sticks to his 6 year old human like 'lego'. Lego has had no basic training but hopefully this will change while in care. As Lego has only been in care a short while please feel free to contact us for further and updated information.

Lego was adopted on 21 August 2011 after 3 weeks in foster care

Truman

Truman

Amercian Cocker Spaniel - male

This boy is a lovely dog, with the usual spaniel traits. He loves to be with people so can get anxious when left alone too long. A family where someone is home most days will be best. He loves kids and food. Spaniels are well known for ear infections due to the shape of their ears and Truman is no exception. He has had past infections so to avoid future ones attention will need to be paid to keeping them clean and dry. He enjoys a good walk and can pull slightly but settles quickly once he knows he's out for a fun time. He travels well in the car and is very good at the vets. He is easy to clip, clean and take care of. He deserves a family who will make him an integral part of their life, preferably with kids to give him lots of love and cuddles. He eats anything and everything given the chance and he would be easy to train to your own habits. He knows to sit, stay and go to bed. He needs to be an inside dog but will cope with some time outside during the daytime. If you feel you can offer Truman a loving home then contact is to be made by phone to 0403 952 900 I need to talk to prospective adoptive parents so phone contact will be given priority.

NOT Avaliable for Interstate Adoption.

Truman was adopted on 18 August 2011 after 1 month in foster care

Maggie

Maggie

Terrier x - female

Maggie was a surrender as her owner could not look after her any more which was clearly obvious as you will see by the photos she was in the most dreadful state. She had feces and urine matted on her back end the smell was horrendous. After 2 hours and 2 people we were able to get her looking like a normal dog. She is loving and quiet, ok with cats and dogs, not food aggressive and loves to cuddle. She would fit perfectly into any family.

Maggie was adopted on 17 August 2011 after 1 month in foster care
