Monty

Monty

domestic shorthair - male

Monty is a beautiful black young kitten with a tiny tuft of white on his chest and lovely blue eyes. He was born without a tail suggesting he may be part Manx, and his people-pleasing personality and quick intelligence certainly bear this out.

Monty is full of energy and loves to play – he has even learned to walk on a lead which we think shows what a clever boy he is! When he is tired of playing, he is such an affectionate kitten that he will climb straight up under your chin and snuggle into your neck where he will purr all day if given the chance. Oh, and Monty has also managed to win over the resident grumpy cat, so he doesn’t just charm humans.

This happy and healthy boy should fit in with any type of loving family who appreciate his entertaining kitten antics as well as his desire to shower his humans with affection and cuddles. Because Monty is a black kitty, however, it is particularly important he be kept indoors as he won’t easily be seen by drivers. Since he was clever enough to take to the lead, maybe you’ll be able to enjoy going for short walks with him!

Monty has been microchipped, vaccinated and desexed, so he is ready to settle into his furever home.

If you’d like to learn more about Monty, or to meet him at his Redfern foster home, please contact Emma.

Monty was adopted on 11 December 2019 after 3 weeks in foster care

Snow

Snow

Domestic Short Hair - male

Snow and Ginge are from a litter of 4. They came into foster care at about 1 to 1.5 weeks old without their Mum. They have been bottle fed and hand raised and have had lots of human interaction.

Both kittens have a beautiful personality. They love to play and love attention. They both have good little purr motors when they are picked up and cuddled. Snow is the quieter of the two and likes more snuggles.

Snow will happily fall asleep in your arms.

Ginge has more energy and likes to run around and explore things more than Snow. Ginge loves to play chase games and enjoys using a cat tower. He is very playful and will often play non stop until he is exhausted.

They are used to having Breeder’s choice paper litter.
They are currently on a diet of Royal Canin Kitten Instinctive (Gravy) and Babycat Mousse, Hills Science Diet Kitten dry food. They also eat raw beef mince and shredded boiled chicken breast.

Both are 1st F3 Vaccinated, Desexed, Microchipped, wormed.

Winter

Winter

Siberian Husky - female

Winter is a beautiful 7 year old female Siberian husky.

She has been surrended due to owner not being able to give her to the attention she needs.

Winter is a gorgeous girl who loves attention from her carers, but not necessarily younger ambitious puppies who want to play with her. She's a complete sook around humans and would happily sit by your side all day.

She's not particularly active, but gets excited when it's walk time or to go for a ride in the car. Winter is terribly overweight, so her new owner should be willing to spend the time in providing her the adequate exercise she requires, although it will be slow going, as she tires easily. In saying that, during her time with us, she has lost some weight and proven to walk further than when we first met her.

She's protective of her food and will growl if another dog goes near her food or disturbs her peace but I haven't found her to be snappy at her foster carer.

We've discovered that she shakes hands, particularly when she knows she's getting a treat and at dinner time.

She's absolutely fine at the dog park and doesn't pay attention to the other dogs, but will mostly just sit instead of running around.

We believe Winter can be adopted by herself, but it would be good for her to have a companion if you already have another husky.

Due to her age, Winter does have some health issues:
Arthritis. Although her weight won't help here, with exercise you may find she will improve. We've also been mixing in "Aging Dog" powder to give her the vitatmins she needs.

Fly blown ears (although this is being treated with a repellent and improvements happening).
Cloudy eyes - the vets have advised this is not cataract and whilst it looks bad, she does have great eye-sight even though it may be a bit cloudy for her.
Zinc deficiency - her nose is a tell-tale sign that she has a zinc deficiency which can be easily treated by supplementing her diet with this vitamin.

IIMPORTANT: You CANNOT have a house with smaller animals such as cats, pocket pets or smaller dogs - as Husky-bred nature is to attack.

You would need a fully enclosed yard that is escape proof.

If you would like to meet Winter, please contact us to meet the beautiful old girl.

Winter was adopted on 08 December 2019 after 6 months in foster care

Matilda (now Amethyst)

Matilda (now Amethyst)

DMH - female

Matilda and her sister, Maggie, are DCH rescue kittens from Campbelltown Pound, where they were handed in without a mumcat.

These kittens should always be kept Indoors in their future homes, unless they are safely supervised outside.

These gorgeous kittens are very people friendly and confident, and just seem to crave love and attention. Both kittens are healthy and playful and get on well with my other DCH foster kittens. All are drinking water and eating wet and dry kitten food, with good appetites.

Matilda has a little squeaky meow which is adorable, and of course she has to be picked up when you hear it! This gentle little girl can be quite vocal for attention but she snuggles in for a cuddle as soon as you give her the chance. Matilda does have a medium length coat, so she will need at least a weekly brush.

The $200 adoption fee includes microchipping, worming, first vaccination and desexing. If you adopt a small kitten at 8-12 weeks, too young to be desexed, you just choose a DCH vet (from our list), and we forward approval to pay the cost of desexing. You just need to organise desexing before the kitten is 6 months old.

Please contact me if you have any questions or if you would like to come and meet Matilda. You and your family are most welcome to organise a time to visit!

(Kittens must reach 1kg and be at least 8weeks old before adoption can be processed but you can place them "On Hold" with a deposit)

Matilda (now Amethyst) was adopted on 30 November 2019 after 3 weeks in foster care

Murray's adoption fee includes his 1st vaccination, microchip, and desexing. His worming and flea treatment were up to date. Murray will be ready for his new home early December, but adoption enquiries are welcome now.
