Natalie

Natalie

Domestic medium hair - female

Natalie came from a litter of 3 and an already-pregnant mama when she was rescued from the streets. With her distinctive black nose, she is a beautiful, strong, sweet kitten who likes to follow the lead of her more confident siblings. Natalie loves to hang out by the cat tree and cat beds, and enjoys being caressed behind her ears, purring contentedly almost immediately.

She loves wet and dry food, is litter-trained and cleans herself after every meal thoroughly. She is also very neat when she uses her litter tray, refraining from scattering litter when she is done. Natalie is microchipped and has received her first vaccination.

If you are looking for a quiet and caring kitten who is no diva, then Natalie may be the addition to your household you are seeking. Natalie looks forward to meeting you.

Teddy

Teddy

Maltese x - male

Teddy is a gorgeous little teddy bear who has been through some tough times recently and is now looking for a loving forever home where he can live out his life in comfort and love.

Teddy was rescued from the pound and was a little neglected he's had some work done to his teeth and lost a few along the way. He is partially blind and is also deaf. But he hasn't let any of that get him down.

He is toilet trained and you can use hand signals to if you want to tell him to sit . He is very gentle and loves a cuddle and going for short walks. He currently lives with a family who has chickens and a rabbit and he doesn't bother them. However, the other dog in the family and Teddy aren't great friends so maybe he is best as an only dog.

Teddy would be ideal for a person or family who wants a dog as a companion to keep them company and go for short walks.

Teddy was adopted on 18 May 2022 after 1 month in foster care

Mercedes

Mercedes

Maltese x silky terrier - female

Hi my name is Mercedes and Im a 16 year old (yes I know Im older than the Queen) silky terrier X maltese

When I came into DCH care, I was in a bad way. I had a HUGE tumour hanging off my shoulder which weighed 800g and I was very matted. I was wandering the streets carrying this huge burden before I was rescued but after having a haircut and bath as well as having that huge thing taken off my shoulder, Im a new lady

I know some people will be thinking that Im too old to be adopted but let me tell you a thing or two. Im a little feisty old lady who loves going for walks ( I dare you to keep up) and I love my dinner

Ive been to the lovely doctor who has told me that although I have a few lumps and bumps, I do not need any medication to keep me fit and healthy. I walk with a bit of a limp but who doesn't at my age and it doesn't stop me from getting into mischief

I would prefer a home with no other dogs or kids as at my age you don't need any of those whipper snappers getting in your way and cats are definitely a no no

So if you like going for walks and if you have a sunny garden with a fenced yard then I am the dog for you. Don't let my age put you off, call my carer today because I would love to meet you xx

Penny

Penny

Domestic Medium Hair - female

Penny found herself at a Western Sydney pound while heavily pregnant. She gave birth to 5 kittens while at the pound. She has been a great mother and had tended diligently to her kittens.

We know this is at least her 2nd litter of kittens as she was handed into the pound with her previous litter.

She is a very friendly cat and has lots of love to give. She eats well and is trying to replenish the nutrients that her kittens are draining from her. She has lost quite a bit of weight while nursing her kittens but should regain that once the kittens are fully weaned.

She has received a vet check-up 10/2 & 22/3 and is doing well. She has been fully vaccinated.

Penny was desexed 22/3 and will be available shortly.

Penny was adopted on 17 May 2022 after 4 months in foster care

Tzarina

Tzarina

Domestic Medium Hair - female

Tzarina is a beautiful young lady with silky soft fur and a fluffy tail. Rescued from the pound heavily pregnant, she was eager to escape the cold, dangerous streets and find a warm, forever home. Her babies have just all found their forever homes so she is ready to go to hers.

As she’s super friendly and affectionate, Tzarina enjoys plenty of pats and scratches. She loves being around her humans but also doesn’t mind spending time on her own. That's when she’ll catch up on her beauty sleep or groom her glossy, medium-length coat in order to look her best.

Nothing much fazes her — not even big, noisy dogs, so Tzarina will be great in all households, even if they’re busy. She is ok with other cats, she is very confident and un-fazed around them - even when they are a bit testy with her. She’s untested with babies and toddlers but she’ll reward children who pet her velvety fur and offer her the treats she loves with a lovely purr.

Tzarina is microchipped, vaccinated and desexed, and is up to date with her flea and worm treatments. If you’re interested in welcoming this regal girl to the warmth of your home, please contact us.

Basil

Basil

American Staffordshire x - male

Basil has had a rough start in life. Rescued as a pup, he spent a lengthy period in a shelter before being scheduled to be euthanised at 1-year-old. DCH gave him a future by opting to foster him in the nick of time, and now Basil is looking for a family to give him a chance at a wonderful life.

Despite his tough start, Basil is an energetic and boisterous pup who thinks every day is Christmas and every person he meets is Santa Claus. He is always happy and wanting cuddles and caresses. He loves playing with dog toys and chase games, lives for walks and is learning how to meet people and other dogs with less over-enthusiasm. He is the best guard dog, often alerting you to strangers on your property with his barking, but he also knows when to be quiet and not wake up the neighbours.

Basil is an outside and inside dog. He loves to hang out with people but can also be by himself as long as there are dog toys for him to play with. He is respectful of furniture and shoes but cat toys don't last long when he is near.

Basil is looking for a family of one or more where they can continue his training to regulate his over-enthusiasm but also appreciate his loving and sweet nature. He loves wet and dry food, is toilet-trained, and knows commands such as 'Sit', 'Down', and 'No'. He learns quickly through positive reinforcement (i.e. giving him a treat when he has behaved appropriately or well).

If you feel that you could offer the love and guidance Basil needs and deserves, he would love to meet you.
