Beau

Beau

Kelpie cross - male

Hi my name is Beau. My mother was found wandering the streets before she was rescued. After my mother was rescued and placed into care, I was born along with 1 brother and 3 sisters and I’m now looking for my forever home. I’m very energetic but very friendly and lovable. I get on with everyone but as my mother was a kelpie, after I grow up I will need lots and lots of exercise. If you would like to meet me, could you please contact my carer because I would love to meet you. I’m available for adoption after 22/11/20 🐾💕

Beau was adopted on 14 November 2020 after 4 days in foster care

Xena (now Amber)

Xena (now Amber)

DSH - female

Indoor Only Cat

Xena had a pretty tough start as a kitten but thanks to a very caring vet, she is now thriving and ready to find her Forever Family.

Xena was found in a gutter after presumably, she had been hit by a car. She was taken to Rossmore Veterinary Hospital and, instead of being put down, this affectionate little kitten was given surgery on a broken pelvis and saved! Although she has healed well, Xena does have a “frozen” left hind leg which will be a permanent condition.

Being the little warrior that she is, Xena has now adjusted to her situation, and instead of dragging her leg, she swings it in front and uses it for balance. At this stage there is no need for her leg to be amputated but this may be a future consideration.

Xena is very people-focused and extremely affectionate and will meow or use her paw to tap you if you stop paying her attention! She loves to follow us around the house and has no shyness at all when meeting new people.

Although she initially hissed at the foster kittens on first meeting, it only took days before she was snuggled up with them and happily playing.

The $200 adoption fee includes microchipping, worming, first vaccination and desexing. Xena is also litter-trained and socialised with cat-friendly dogs.

Please use the "Send enquiry email" link below, if you have any questions or if you are interested in adopting.

You must be over 18yrs old and an Australian citizen or Permanent Resident to adopt an animal from DCH.

Xena (now Amber) was adopted on 13 November 2020 after 2 months in foster care

Toulouse

Toulouse

Domestic Short Hair - male

Hi, I am Toulouse and I was taken into care with my brother, Thomas. He has now found his furever home; while I have some smaller fluffballs to play with I rather miss him, so I'm hoping a loving family all my own will take me home with them soon.

Toulouse is a slender, sleek and muscular boy, with sharp intelligent eyes. He has a fantastic purr. He quickly learnt that a pat and cuddle are wonderful. Toulouse loves to find a quiet warm spot for a cat nap with the other kitties in his foster household.

Toulouse loved playing with his brother - chasing, wrestling, rumbling, balls with bells, mice, toes and fluffy toys. He also enjoys exploring - climbing, sneaking, hiding, climbing legs, and wriggling behind furniture, windows and beds. And is quite the technology fan - walking on screens and keyboards and being mesmerised by the screen.

Toulouse would thrive within a peaceful family with other cats, which has the patience and love to help him settle in. We think he will turn into a homely snugglebug, and good play, mate for other family felines. He is an indoor only kitty.

Toulouse has been microchipped and vaccinated, and is desexed so he is raring to go on his new adventure with you.

If you are interested in learning more about this lovely ginger ninja, or wish to visit him at his foster home in Winmalee, please email his foster carer.

Tulip

Tulip

Mini Foxie - female

Tulip's mumma named Nova came into DCH care to have her puppies in the safe environment of DCH foster care. She had her babies in a nice warm lounge room on a cold stormy night when she was able to enjoy a nice soft bed with the heater running to keep her babies warm.
She raised 5 beautiful Foxie Mini puppies.

Tulip is the 5th and last puppy born and got the nickname Tona due to her grey colouring compare to her brother and sisters who are black and white.

Tulip was the runt of the litter so was the last to venture out from their “nest” but is making up for it with her bravery and small little Yelp ans strong personality.

Tulip has received all 3 puppy vaccinations and has been desexed, microchipped and treated with flea and worm prevention.

She is ready for adoption into a home where she can have access to indoors as well as outdoors and receive lots of cuddles and attention for the rest of her life.

Tulip will need obedience training and we would recommend attending a puppy school which she can now do as she had had all her vaccinations. She will need additional toilet training but is used to toileting on a synthetic grass matt and or puppy pads when inside.

Note: *Tulip is on hold for an adoption*

Tulip was adopted on 09 November 2020 after 2 weeks in foster care

Thomas

Thomas

Domestic Short Hair - male

Hi, I am Thomas and I’m in foster care with my brother, Toulouse who has his own profile on the website. We are both looking for a furever home – together would be nice, but not essential – we really just want a loving family, perhaps with some furry friends for us!

Thomas is a lovely fluffy boy, broad faced with a stocky build; his real stand out feature is his beautiful big eyes. He has a soft playful side and a loud contented purrrrrrrr. Thomas is happy to have a cuddle and sleep near people, but prefers to find a quiet corner or cuddle up with Toulouse.

Both brothers love their people, and
• Playing together - chasing, wrestling, rumbling, balls with bells, mice, toes and fluffy toys.
• Exploring - climbing, sneaking, hiding, climbing legs, and wriggling behind furniture, windows and beds.
• Technology - walking on screens and keyboards, sitting in front of screens, and Thomas even likes playing chase the mouse on the iPad!!!!! A perfect work from home companion….?

If the brothers go to separate homes, Thomas would love a family with children and other animals and lots of cuddles and play. He will provide his new family with lots of affection and fun times. He is an indoor only kitty.

Thomas has been microchipped and vaccinated. His adoption fee includes de-sexing.

Weasley

Weasley

Domestic Short Hair - male

Weasley is a beautiful boy inside and out, he has a very playful and curious personality.

He loves love including lots of cuddles and belly rubs. He has a lot of love to give and would make a great addition to any family.

He was hit by a car and received a small break to his back leg. It has healed on its own. The vets have completed Xrays and have decided that no surgical actions were needed at the moment. Weasley may develop a small limp or early onset of arthritis later in life due to the injury.

Stitch

Stitch

Labrador X Mastiff - male

Stitch is a beautiful 9 year old Labrador X Mastiff. He is an absolute gentleman and is so gentle.

Through no fault of his own, he is looking for a new home with a new family to take him through his senior years. He would be suited to many families, is very gentle so could be suitable for young children, and is great with other dogs. In fact, Stitch has grown up with another dog so only homes with other dogs will be considered to help keep the transition smooth for him. This would likely help with his current separation anxiety, Stitch did not have this at his old home so it is likely that the big changes have led to it - once he gains back his routine and a doggy friend, we hope this will reduce back down again.

A large backyard would be ideal for Stitch - his favourite game is fetch. He will use anything available to play fetch with, and will not stop unless they are taken away! As a result, plenty of room to keep running and fit would be great for him, and someone who makes sure he doesn't overdo it as well as he gets too hot and doesn't stop! Stitch LOVES water, and so it would be wonderful if his family would be able to take him regularly to beaches and water so that he can keep cool whilst still playing fetch!

Stitch is great on the lead - he starts off a little bit strong just as he is excited, but soon calms down and walks really well.

In his old home, Stitch was outside during the day and inside at night. A place where he is able to choose between whether he goes outside or inside is essential. He certainly loves a good lounge snuggle, so that would also be lovely for him!

Stitch is desexed, microchipped and will be up to date on vaccinations, worming and flea treatment when he is adopted. Please contact his foster carer, Gemma, on 0435939858 to find out more about Stitch and meet him.
