Robbie and Bob's story

Hello DCH!!

I live on the North Shore and I have 2 of your darling doggies!

The first one I adopted was Robbie, a red cattle x staffy. He is now 4 years old and a real Mum's boy. He is a very well behaved and loyal man, and I have honestly never felt the connection to a dog that I feel to Robbie. I have recently bought a kayak and i cannot keep Robbie out of it. I have bought him a life jacket and we go kayaking together on the river. He has only been to the vet for his annual check-up and vaccinations, otherwise he enjoys a perfect bill of health.

The second hound I adopted is Bob, and Irish Wolfhound x mystery breed! Bob was 5 months

old when I picked him up and he is now 3 years old. I bought Bob for my father for his 70th birthday. Sadly, my father passed away in January this year and left poor Bob behind. Bob misses him dearly and spends quiet time sitting at the foot of my fathers bed.

Bob and Robbie live together now. They are the best of friends and we call them brothers. Each morning when they wake they find each other and kiss each other good morning. They share all their toys quite happily and cry (howl) when they are separated. They were born to be together: The Odd Couple!!

Every year we go on the Million Paws Walk for the RSPCA and a while back they won a photography session as a prize. We went off to Centennial Park to have the photos taken, all clean after being at the groomers, and they loved every minute of it. It was very difficult for the photographer to get shots of them separately as they just wanted to be together! A sign of true brotherly love.

I can not sing the praises of your organisation enough. Both my boys were healthy happy pups when I adopted them and have continued to be so ever since. They have lovely temperaments and there is not a hint of aggression in either dog. It is a great way to add a pet to the family and I will certainly never buy another dog, or cat, or any other animal from a breeder when I can adopt them and rescue them from the doom of the pound and/or death row. I think both my boys know that they have been 'rescued' and are very grateful. They seem to show a special kind of loyalty that I have not seen in dogs from a breeder. Thank you for your time and I look forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards, Emily Patterson
