Melba's story

Hi There

Just a short note. We got our wonderful dog "Melba" from one of your carers in January 2007. We think she was about 6 months old when she adopted us, so not one of your first, but I thought I would send this note anyhow.

We attended a friends BBQ where Melba was staying at the time. I gave her a pat and played with her a bit, and while there were lots of people at the BBQ, she did not leave my side for the rest of the day"... She came home with us a few days later, and still doesn't leave my side, a real loyal friend!!!

My wife said she wasn't sure about getting a dog at the time, as she was a cat person, she now says she can't imagine life without our Melba. Melba has been a wonderful part of our family. It was just my wife and I initially, but we now have two kids (Girls), and Melba adores them, and vice versa.

Melba is a high spirited, highly intelligent ball of energy, but knows about kids and is very gentle with them. Her favourite things are going out, anywhere, and especially when there is water involved. She swims and dives like a fish, and will run till she drops. Its funny, I looked for some old photos and found her original DCH description and photo. (Description below, photo attached).

"Melly is a water baby, she just loovveess water!!! Her toes are slightly webbed so she may be crossed with a water breed of some sort. She is a loving and sweet natured girl who loves everyone she meets. She would make a great pet and her love of water would be fantastic for people who spend lots of time around water. She is not an over excitable puppy which would make her great with kids. Although she isn't the most cutest pup around her personality certainly makes up for it.

As you can see, her love of water was identified back then, which suits us fine, as we spend a lot of time around the water.

Have also attached a couple of photos for you. There are shots of Melba with me on a Port Macquarie beach, one with her Kong, and one in a friend's pool. Also a high res shot of her in mid air chasing a stick.

Anyhow, I thought you would like to hear how Melba is going, as we sure rate her as a success story.

Kind Regards
Dave
