Rosie

Rosie

Jack Russell x - female

Rosie is a delightful little dog. She is placid, good with kids and other dogs. She hasn't had a lot of training but is learning quickly. She is not a barker and would suit a home where she is with her human a lot as she loves people. She is being cared for in the Shellharbour area.

Rosie was adopted on 05 November 2007 after 3 weeks in foster care

Bambi

Bambi

Cattle x Staffy - female

Bambi is just like her name sounds a gentle doe like puppy. She is very calm and well behaved inside the house and outside in the yard. She doesn't bark or jump up. Bambi is independant and very intelligent. We all love her here and marvel at how good she is for such a young puppy. She's wonderful with children and other dogs young and older. She loves the older resident dog and looks up to her adoringly. Bambi is a very special little girl indeed we like to think that the heart shaped pigment on her nose is a sign of just how peacefull and loving she is. Bambi's coat is so very soft and bright white with a little tan on her face. When she's wet some black spots show through and she looks so adorable. We believe she will grow to be a medium sized dog.

Lucy

Lucy

Fox Terrier x - female

Lucy was only surrendered to the pound because her owners were moving. She is a total sweetheart who loves life, people of all ages and other dogs. Lucy gets distressed if left alone so it would be best if she were not an only dog. She will bond very strongly to her owner and would make a great companion dog

Poor Little Lucy came down with a severe gastric bug after coming out of the pound. She was extremely ill and we almost lost her. Luckily she has a fighting spirit and after several days at the vet on a drip she has recovered and is doing wonderfully.

Lucy's vet bills in the last week have come to $575 and we are seeking sponsorship to help cover these expenses.

If you can help please call Megan on 9627 2767 or email dchanimaladoptions@iprimus.com.au

Thanks to Spike's new owner for their donation towards Lucy's vet fees

Buddy

Buddy

Labrador x Rotti - male

Buddy is a typical big boofa and like most Labs, he loves his food so he will be easy to train. Nothing much seems to phase this boy who is currently living with 2 GSDs and an aviary of lovebirds. He has basic obedience and seems to be child friendly (Watch out for that tongue as he loves giving kisses.) Buddy would love a home where he has company all day, either human or canine or both. If you are looking for a large dog please consider Buddy as he is a lovely gentle soul who would deserves his own family.

Buddy was adopted on 05 November 2007 after 2 months in foster care

Pumpkin

Pumpkin

American Staffy - female

Pumpkin is an absolutely gorgeous female Staffy. She is Miss Personality, a real crowd pleaser and makes new friends wherever she goes. She is funny and extremely endearing

she is great with people. Pumpkin would benefit from additional training, although she knows basic commands like sit and come. It would probably be best if you are an experienced dog owner, as she is a strong, athletic dog, who does react to other dogs she meets when being walked. She could probably be matched to other household pets providing they were robust (She used to live with another Staffy). If I were not going overseas in 6 weeks I would adopt her myself, she is that fabulous.

Pumpkin was adopted on 31 October 2007 after 1 month in foster care

Sharshar

Sharshar

Jack Russell x Ridgeback - female

Cuddly, cutie, very adorable girl, submissive to her human friends but will play wonderfully with her siblings. She will do well with even a young family given her nature to please and be ready to wait her turn. She is great with my 5 year old who picks her up and plays housy with her. She just loves the company and is happy to be the replacement dolly. She will need training but given her genetics it's a guess as to how big she will grow. The usual walks, play and cuddles will make her a happy little companion. She's a heartbreaker, you won't want to leave her behind after you meet her.

Sharshar was adopted on 27 October 2007 after 3 days in foster care

Cookie

Cookie

Jack Russell x Ridgeback - male

What a great little chap with heaps of personality. Always up for a play, he gets along with his siblings so well. He's a very friendly happy boy. He has the JR colouring with the backwards facing fur line of the Ridgy but we have no idea how big he will grow given the genetic combination. He loves his food and is learning to share nicely. Come and see this active guy and you'll want to take him home.

Ricco

Ricco

Jack Russell x Ridgeback - male

What a great puppy, the most laid back in the group of 4 I have. A bit shy to start he will fall asleep in your arms and happily be your inside companion. He seems content in his own company just as much as he can play when he feels like it with the others, which may suit if you are working. He would still need toys to keep him amused daily walks and to be part of your day to day life but otherwise time alone is not such a problem for this guy. He's a bit of a dozer often being the first to snooze after food and the last to get up and active. The genetic mix makes it hard to tell his ultimate size but he has the colouring of a JR without the ridgy furline down his back, so is smooth coated. He's a favourite with my children for his polite, non scratching, non mouthing, non jumping. manners

Ricco was adopted on 27 October 2007 after 6 days in foster care

Mocca

Mocca

Jack Russell x Ridgeback - male

Gentle natured boy, he loves his family and wishes to be with them heaps. He will do well in training, but we have no idea how big he will grow. The mother was Ridgy the father JR so it's a guess as to how the genetics will decide the size. He has the colouring but not the backwards facing fur line. A real crowd pleaser this one. Lots of love to give and a wonderful nature for anyone.

Charli

Charli

Chihuahua x - female

Charli WAS a timid chi X that had been surrended. NOW she is a happy girl who although she is shy with strangers doesn't take long to warm up. She absolutly loves her chew toys, and loves nothing better than sitting at your feet (she's very loyal) or playing with other dogs. She would make a great companion for another dog. She walks well on a lead ( a harness is best) and this is a favorite part of her day. She absolutely loves food, so you do need to watch her weight and make sure she doesn't over eat. Although she is quite young she is reasonably quiet for her age. She wants nothing more than to please you.
