Mambo

Mambo

DSH - male

Mambo is a lovely big boy whose number one thing in life is cuddles and food. He loves being picked up and nursed and never seems to get sick of having affection lavished upon him. Mambo has no issues with the other cats here but does prefer being in the company of humans. He's not terribly fussed by my dogs and just stays out of their way. Mambo is a great eater and is litter trained. At the moment he is an indoors cat but is starting to venture out into my garden for a bit of fresh air and sunshine. If you're looking for a smoochy, cuddly no fuss lap cat, then please come and met with Mambo.

Mambo was adopted on 10 August 2011 after 1 day in foster care

Flynn

Flynn

male

Flynn is a short haired brown tabby male with a similar personality to Smidgeon. In fact he is Smidgeon's right hand man; whatever she is up to he is not far behind. Very friendly and affectionate, greets you every time he sees you and talks back to you when you talk to him. Sometimes stands up on his hind legs to reach up to you in order to be picked up. Once in a while when playing with his other kitten friends he leaps up into the air off all four legs to pounce on them. Due to his 'acrobatics' he ended up with the same name as Errol Flynn.

Flynn was adopted on 02 August 2011 after 6 months in foster care

Saffron

Saffron

DMH - male

Saffron is a medium haired full orange male tabby who came into care with two other siblings. His parents were quite large boned cats and he is taller than an average kitten of his age. He has the personality of a rag doll cat and is affectionate to the extreme. He will seek you out, climb up on your lap, press his cheek against you and gazes lovingly into your eyes. If you don't pay attention to him at this point in time he will reach up with a paw and gently tap you on the face. He is willing to sit on you lap as long as you will let him. Sometimes sleeps with my Great Dane in his bed.

Saffron was adopted on 01 August 2011 after 1 month in foster care

Bellana

Bellana

DSH - female

Bellena is a friendly girl who loves nothing more than to be outside enjoying the sunshine. She started life with DCH as a pregnant girl rescued from the pound. Since she gave birth to, and raised her beautiful kittens she now spends her days hanging out in the backyard lying in the sun and chasing flies. She doesn't really like coming inside, and would rather hang outside with you while you have your morning cup of tea. She isn't a lapcat, but will come upto you for pats and treats. Bellena is good with other cats and likes grooming them. She is also quite playful, and likes to run around with her feline friends. Bellena would be the perfect companion for someone who wants to give an older cat a home, and is happy for her to live happily in their backyard. She is a 'no fuss' girl and would love to find her forever home as she has been in care for more than two years.

Bellana was adopted on 01 August 2011 after 1.8 years in foster care

Tiggy and Mumma Bear

Tiggy and Mumma Bear

DSH - female

Poor Tiggy came down with a terrible case of cat flu that both he and his mother, Mumma Bear, got. He was frothing at the mouth and had to be rushed to the vets. He was very ill and on a drip for 7 days at the vets but he pulled through and is now doing wonderfully.

Tiggy and Mumma Bear's additional vet expenses have come to $1114.

Thank you to Jan, Irena, Lainie, Jo, Julie, Maureen, Sherita, Anne and a special thanks to Peter, for all their very generous donations towards the care of these cats. Their vet bills have now been fully covered.

Tiggy and Mumma Bear was adopted on 31 July 2011 after 1 month in foster care

Sugar

Sugar

DSH - female

When Sugar was surrendered into care she was absolutely terrified and stayed hidden from me for several days. Time though has seen Sugar adjust to her new surroundings and she is now happy to mix with myself and my family. She's still apprehensive about my dogs and the other cats here but no longer runs and hides when they're about. With humans, Sugar is incredibly affectionate. She loves being scratched behind the ears or at the base of her tail and you'll receive loud purrs as a thank you. Sugar is a good eater and is litter trained. She has shown no interest in going outside preferring the warmth of my sunroom. I believe Sugar would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a quiet, loving and gentle cat who is no bother whatsoever.
