Chedda and Brie

Dear Judy and Megan

Thanks so much for our lovely girls Chedda and Brie - now renamed Bella The Beautiful (Bella for short) and Brianna The Brave (Bri).

They have fit right into our family and are giving us hours of amusement. Each kitten has already worked out who it belongs to and have been napping with their new owners (Kate and Bella, Michael and Bri). Bri is a real livewire and very inquisitive and brave - she loves our Christmas tree!! Bella is very conscious of her good looks and is a little more restrained and ladylike. They both have been tearing around their new house - liking the extra space probably - and amusing us with their antics.

We will take some Christmas photos and send them to you soon.

Anyway, thanks for making everything so easy. We will certainly recommend you to anyone who would like a rescued pet.

Merry Christmas!

Helen

Chedda and Brie were adopted on 6/12/2008 after 2 months in foster care

Duke and Daisy

Duke and Daisy

Hi Megan

I thought I'd let you know that Daisy and Duke (who we adopted in June)are doing really well and became an important part of our family straight away. We adore them and couldn't imagine not seeing their faces when we come in the door. In the mornings they follow us around the house and love playing with anything left lying around. At night they curl up on our laps and love being tickled.

Thanks for looking after them for their first 3 months. Michelle and Pete

Duke and Daisy were adopted on 26/6/08 after 3 months in foster care.

Jackson

Jackson

I just want to thank Beth and DCH for our Jack.

We adopted him as Jackson on the 22/9/08 and shortened his name. He started off a bit of a terror but after lots of patience and training for Jack and us he is turning into a lovely affectionate cat. We have attached a picture and the toys you see in that picture we find throughout the house including down stairs and under our bed! We think that he is part dog as he sure acts like it at times. Again thank you for very much for saving Jack so we could adopt him and make our place more warm and happy!

Jackson was adopted on 22/9/08 after 2 months in foster care.

Rosie

Rosie

Hi Judy, Just to let you know that we adore our puppy. We adopted Rosie in June this year and we named her Sasha. She is so comfortable with us and is loving her life by the sea. She has lived here for 3 months so far. We walk with her every day, rain, hail or shine and she has helped bring life back to our place after losing our previous dog of 14 years.

We took Sasha to puppy school and she learns so quickly. She was always winning prizes for coming and sitting in 3 seconds etc. She is an awesome dog.

Sasha adores our 6 year old daughter and they are pretty much inseparable. Sasha also gets on very well with our budgie, the bird calls her and they play and share celery through the cage. Very cute! Our family are big fans of your service and we are addicted to watching the puppies on your website.

Thank you so much, Sasha is a gorgeous dog and perfect for our lifestyle. Attached are a few photos of Sasha in her home.

Cheers

Lisa, Richard, Jade and Sasha

Rosie was adopted on 24/6/08 after 1 month in foster care.

I've attached some pictures of my Kitties, Cher and Salem enjoying the pet bed I won in the silent auction. They love it! Keep up the good work guys.

Jo.

Natasha and Munchkin

Natasha and Munchkin

Dear Megan, I have also added a pic of Stella (b and w) and Tilly (tortie) so you can see the beautiful girls they have become- they have just had their second birthday and are loving living in the Blue Mountains where they have a huge garden and fish pond to play with!

We often think about Rocky, Stella's (Natasha's) brother- he was such a little ball of energy- did he ever find a home?

We are hoping to adopt a dog in the next year or so, as soon as we can afford a proper fence so it will be safe. We will be sure to contact DCH to see if there is a dog that would like to live with us.

Cheers

Michelle

Natasha and Munchkin were adopted on 26/01/07. Natasha was in care for 3 months, Munchkin was in foster care for 1 month prior to adoption

DJ

Hello to All at DCH

On 25 November 2006 I adopted a Rotti from DCH, his name was D J. D J's first mum was Fran. Well as you can see a little time has gone by and things have certainly changed! I modified D J's name to Deeje (pronounced deeeje), we played and worked, or should I say, he played and I worked, and I was the fortunate one who watched a butterfly emerge from its cocoon.

D J was 14 months old (says his vet), weighed 29kg, with a nervous tendancy, and big melting Rotti eyes, and as I said, boy have things changed! Deeje has grown 2 taller and 2 longer, weighes 48kg, (we're on a little diet), and is the picture of health. We continually are stopped by strangers when we're out walking or taking in a park, complimenting Deeje on his good looks, how well behaved he is and can I pat him, he is the centre of attention! Sometimes they say something to me!

Deeje has basic obedience plus some extras, he wont eat until told to, will leave treats until told, will 'fetch' his 'ball' and bring it to my hand, waits at the 'car' when going for a drive, waits at the 'gate' when we are going for a walk, says 'hello' in his best yodel and is an all round snag who loves a cuddle and a sort of nurse. If anyone at DCH has contact with Fran could you please forward this mail to her or let her know Deeje is going fantastically.

Joy

DJ was adopted on 25/11/06 after 1 month in foster care.

Kipper

Kipper

Dear Lauren and Family, Hello there. Just wanted to send you some photos of Kipper. He is approaching 1 soon. I think he is near fully grown now.

We have discovered that Kipper is a soft furnishings dog. He has his own sofa and sleeps inside with his blanket next to the heater. We bought a kennel which he uses in the day for a afternoon nap.

He had his first encounter with cattle on my dads farm in the southern highlands a few weekends ago. He did show some natural instincts where we were all surprised at.

He is attending obedience training which is an effect at the dog park with so many distractions! Kipper is the most affectionate and loving dog. Here are some pictures of him.

Hope you are all doing well.

Yo, Tim and Kipper

Kipper was adopted on 7/12/07 after 6 weeks in foster care.

Muffin

Muffin

Dear Judy

Just wanted to give you an update on the most gorgeous dog in the world, Muffin. I was lucky enough to adopt Muffin back in June of this year and every day since has been an absolute joy. She settled in beautifully with us, including our other dog Matilda, and we couldn't imagine our household without her. Muffin still loves her pats and cuddles and gets very excited when we walk up to school and she sees the kids running out the school gate. Many of the children have adopted her as their surrogate dog so she gets plenty of attention!

As you can see by the photo she has her pride of place on the lounge and her favourite pillow. Life is pretty good. Thank you to everyone at DCH for the wonderful job you do. You certainly all deserve wings.

The Kennedy family.

Muffin was adopted on 28/06/08 after 1 month in foster care.
