Dusty

Dusty

Hi Megan

Just wanted to send through updated photo's of our baby girl Dusty. She is definitely getting bigger... our vet believes that she is an English Staffy X Great Dane, so I'm sure she has a lot more growing to do as she is only 20kg's so far and only 7 months old. Dusty is getting on really well with her adoptive brother Kenny and I'm sure that they just couldn't live without each other, they really are like pee's and carrots.

Dusty has become a fantastic wrestler, and as she gets bigger each week, she learns more tricks on how to beat Kenny at his own game. Dusty also love's her long walks every day, cuddles with mum, visits to see all of her friends at the Rouse Hill dog park.... And not to mention her love of visits to Grandma and Grandpa's 54 acre property!

Our biggest thankyou to all you wonderful ladies and your organisation, as we wouldn't have Dusty without your help. Donna and Mick

PS - you can tell from the photo of her asleep outside their kennel that she really is comfortable in her new home.

Rema

Rema

Hi

Just a quick up date on Rema. You have probably had so manny puppies since Rema that i will foward one of my favourite photos. This photo of Rema made the short list in the optimum calendar 2008 competition. She has changed quite a lot from this puppy photo she is a lot lighter in her colouring now. The photo of her sitting in the chair is when we were out droving and camping with our cattle surching for grass for them to eat, we were away from home for a little over 3 months.Rema loved it,she thinks the caravan is home now but im sure she will settle back into home life quickly. We have only been home since Christmas day. Anyway best wishes for the new year Lara Chris and Rema

Stormy

Stormy

Hi there We adopted Stormy over 2 months ago now, and thought you might like to hear how he's getting on.

Well, it's like he's always been with us! We can't remember what life was like without him. He was a bit shy and reserved at first, but as the weeks pass, more and more of his true personality emerges. He is a very loving dog, who likes nothing better than curling up between my husband and I on the couch. Sometimes it is difficult to move around the house without finding him under your feet begging for a tummy scratch! He is a super well-behaved boy, and has been no trouble whatsoever. We still cannot get over how lucky we are! He gets on well with our cat, who likes to get in on any ball-fetching action. Mostly this involves hiding in wait for Stormy to pass by, then jumping out and chasing him! This does not deter Stormy's love of ball-fetching, although after a few runs, he learns to go the long way round to avoid the cat 8)

Stormy also loves going for his walks, especially when he can be off the lead to explore where he likes and make any detours into the water

another great love of his we are discovering! We took him to a dog-beach a few weekends ago where he was on the go the whole afternoon, swimming and fetching

needless to say he slept well that night! Anyway, we just wanted to say thank you so much (especially Becky) for allowing Stormy to become part of our family

we really don't know what we'd do without him. Sarah

Stormy was adopted on 29/9/07 after 2 weeks in foster care.

Osbourne

Osbourne

Ricky found the perfect spot to get away from Ondine, up on top of the wardrobe in Kate's old car-seat. He could see everything from there. Here he is about 8 months old.

Here's Ricky enjoying some July winter sun on top of the spa. 10 months old.

He loved sleeping in the cat tunnel on a cold day, with a toy stolen from Kate's bed. He's a bit of a thief. So if anything goes missing, it's usually in the tunnel. I have found missing socks in there, a roll of sellotape, and even a bra!

Ricky is a very outdoorsy type, loves to sleep under a bush in the garden all day, only stirring to catch the odd little lizard, which he then hides under the kitchen mat. I often manage to rescue them and let them go outside, much to his disappointment. He's also a great cockroach catcher, but brings them inside too, which I wish he didn't. We have a smooch session every night, at his discretion though. He hates to be picked up and kissed when I want to, but when he wants a cuddle, he is the biggest smoocher of all time! Hope you've enjoyed hearing about him.

Prickles

Prickles

Hi

Just thought I'd send through a quick update on how Prickles' move went. She was great in the car, slept for two hours, then got a bit restless for the last half hour or so.

Got her home, she spent a good hour checking out every nook and cranny she could find, then went back to play for ages with the cat tree she discovered, before crashing on the blanket she found on the couch. She loved spending the night in bed, including sleeping over my neck for a while, then crashing out with her head on my pillow for the rest of the night.

I've been playing with her all morning, shes non stop :) Ended up popping her on her blanket in the sun and grabbing some pictures. I've attached the best ones, enjoy.

Thanks so much for letting us have her live with us. We really appreciate the work you have both put into her already, she certainly wouldn't be around if you hadn't have saved her. Rest assured she'll be spolit rotten for the rest of her life, and we'll definetly keep you updated with pics. All best

Prickles was adopted on 9/08/07 after 2 months in foster care. Prickles was another special needs kitten suffering ongoing sinus problems due to a bad bout of cat flu.

Beryl

Beryl

G'day Megan

Thanks for the piccies of Beryl they are lovely... and so is she. I got a couple of packets of of mini mice from Coles and you wouldn't how its brought the shy, timid little baby out of herself. She now is managing three mice at a time, biting them, tossing them high in the air then pouncing on them only to sink her teeth into the little beasts again and again. The best feline therapy I've ever seen.

Beryl's just great. Shes got us all worked out. With a little talk to mum late at night gets mum off to bed so Beryl can sleep on her bed undisturbed. A smoodge on my foot or leg then throw your self on the floor in front of the food bowl gets her some tasty treats. If no one is forthcomming with the food then you reach out with your paw and touch the bowl.

Regards

Beryl was adopted on 15/7/07 after 5 months in foster care. A Special needs girl very fearful of stranges, Beryl was truly blessed to find such a wonderful, caring new home.
